[DIY] Shell Sneakers

by - 21.23.00

I always love sneakers. They’re comfortable, and went good with almost everything. But still, as a secret agent of Pembela Pengiritan Garis Miring, I will never buy a pair of new sneakers unless my old sneakers are already broke and no longer wearable, or, I got a chance to buy them in the cheapest price.
Last week, when me and Ibing wandering around the city. We found a store that sell foot wear in a big, big, big, SALE! We stop by to take a look and found this lovely couple for only IDR 50k. So yeah, it’s 25k only for each pair.

Of course, I know in an instant that I can’t wear the shoes just the way they are. They’re look too old, too outdated, and not cool at all. So I started to think any ideas to do with this pair of shoes and I found a bunch of ideas including painting and dye them up. I still can’t decide, until on the beach, when I was playing with sand and seashells. I put shells on the shoe and I found them pretty good. I also found the shell have the same color theme with the shoe. They’re white with a bit brown right? That’s why I decided to collect more shells and bring them home.

If you wanna make your own shell sneakers, you will need:
1.       Sneakers
2.       Shells
3.       Hot glue
4.       Glue gun (if you have)

Me, I don’t have a glue gun so I just heat the glue up with some help of lighter and candle. And it works pretty well. I use the hot glue because Ibing told me it will work best with shell and the fabric of the shoe, but, if you have a better idea about the right type of the glue, go ahead and please tell me.
Put the shell one by one on the shoe. Make sure it stick strong enough you’ll not worry to wear it for a run. And also, you have to pay attention to the shape and size of the shell. Decorate your shoes as you wish.
It doesn’t take a long time. Maybe just an hour or two (I don’t count my time), and after I finish, here they are. My sneakers are already brand new and not so boring anymore.

I love sneakers, and I love this one so much. If you make your own, please let me know by leaving link on comment section below.
Thank you so much for reading! See you in the next project!
